SPIRITUALITY – COMING HOME TO MOM
Imagine a warm summer wind, a long hug from a loved one, the smell of a wild rose, or a night sky with an infinite number of stars. Think of the feeling that you are left with when you take the time to savor these moments. Maybe it’s a sense of relaxation, a feeling of reassurance, the impression of splendor, or an awareness of one’s own humility. In these moments we recognize that we are one with our natural environment, and that “Life” is greater than self. This is “Love Your Rock” spirituality.
Spirituality is not a concept limited to any one religion or denomination; it’s not even linked, necessarily, to worship in a church or belief in a certain god. It is a sense of meaning and purpose, a sense of self and that which is greater than self. It is a belief system that focuses on intangible elements or forces that add vitality and meaning to your life and life’s events. The feelings you get from a loving hug or the overwhelming night sky are intangible elements that add vitality and meaning to your life.
So take the time out of your daily routine and remind yourself that you are connected to your natural world; you are part of “Life”. Enjoy the warm summer wind, and smell the roses, help a stranger and have lunch in the park. When you are able to recognize all that is “Life”, you are left with deep gratitude, humility and compassion. So go on, “Love Your Rock” it will love you back.
